| Tyngsborough Superintendent Search |
As you may know, Superintendent David Hawkins will be retiring at the end of this school year. We wish Mr. Hawkins the best and appreciate his 20 years of dedication to the Tyngsborough Public Schools.
The search for a new superintendent of schools is well underway. We will post information here so please check back for updates.
The Superintendent Search is happening in four phases.
In the first phase, our search consultant will conduct a series of Focus Groups to gather input from parents, students and community members about the characteristics we seek in our next Superintendent and the short term challenges we would like our new Superintendent to address.
In the second phase, we will appoint a Superintendent Search Screening Committee that will be composed of members representing the parents, teachers, administrators, town leaders, and community.
In the third phase the Screening Committee will prepare for and then interview 10-15 initial candidates. In the end, they will recommend the 3-5 finalists to pass along to the School Committee.
In the fourth phase, the School Committee will interview the finalist candidates, visit candidates’ current school districts, select their preferred candidate, and then negotiate a contract with the new Superintendent of Tyngsborough’s Public Schools. During this phase, the public is invited to meet the finalist candidates on February 27-28.
The School Committee encourages parent and community involvement in this search process. If you have questions or concerns throughout this process, please contact Diana Keohane, School Committee Liaison for the Superintendent Search.
